Do You do a Good Job Taking Care of Yourself?

Do you ever feel tired, like you have too much to keep up with (work, kids, family) to do a good job of taking care of yourself?

 

Does it leave you not feeling well at times? Does the exhaustion get the best of you and not allow you to invest in your health?

 

✨ If so, it’s okay you are human and I understand because I have walked in your shoes. We all have different circumstances and our plates can be full in different ways but for the sake of our health, we must find a balance and take care of ourselves.

 

✨ A little story time here… I was running myself ragged after my divorce both physically and mentally and then came a life altering experience. I had a near fatal accident that almost took my life and I suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that left me with two weeks of amnesia and from which I would spend the next year slowing down and recovering from.

 

✨ The reason I share my story is because this experience resulted in my having a lot of gratitude for this precious life we all have and how to persevere through yet another type of life’s challenges. Blessed to be alive, blessed to have recovered but left with frequent and debilitating migraines. I can work through anything but migraines will stop me dead in my tracks. For anyone that suffers from them, you know all too well what I’m talking about. I’m just using migraines as one of the examples to talk about when we are tired, exhausted and not feeling well but must keep on and take care of ourselves.

 

✨ I continue to feed my body well, exercise when my body allows me to and get the rest it needs, both mentally and physically. These three components are essential to sufficiently do your due diligence in self care. It does not have to be perfect but disregarding your nutrition, your fitness or your sleep will not help your body feel optimal. Of course, seek medical care when needed as well but these fundamentals will serve as the ideal foundation.

 

As a life coach, I have been through my share of life‘s tribulations and I understand what you may be going through but please remember that without your health nothing else will be of concern.
