What makes a relationship good for you?

 

We all want the obvious of feeling loved and appreciated by our partner but it goes much deeper. For the relationship to thrive and for both partners to continue to feel fulfilled, many basic criteria must be met.

 

✨ We want loyalty, respect, compromise, trust, support, emotional connection, physical connection, mental stimulation, caring, feeling safe and secure, encouragement, acceptance, understanding, kindness, friendship, selflessness, commitment, patience, and open communication.

These principles will have a different hierarchy for each individual as our needs vary but these values are the key ingredients to a healthy relationship.

 

✨ When the basic needs are not being met is when we start feeling something is missing or we’re unhappy. Often, people will stay in this discontent state for too long without making changes or knowing how to make change happen. Don’t let this happen to you. Identify the direct cause of your unhappiness or frustration and communicate with your partner early on, before resentment starts to build up. Together you should come up with solutions that work for you both.
